M Series

Overview

M Series Motor Graders Set a New Standard in Machine Performance and Control, Operator Comfort and Visibility.

The Intuitive Design
Cat® M Series Motor Graders feature innovative joystick controls to offer superior hydraulic control and steering - putting total machine control in the palm of your hands. The joysticks offer precise control and ease of operation, a reduction of hand and wrist movement by 78% and a reduction in body movements during operation by 50%. This results in low effort and less fatigue for operators and an overall increase in productivity.

Exceptional Visibility and Comfort
The M Series cab features unmatched visibility, giving operators a clear view of the blade from all angles. The ergonomic design, integrated heating and air conditioning system and low interior sound levels all contribute to an operator environment that’s second to none.

Easy Service and Maintenance
When it comes to service and maintenance, the low-level service and ground filling of the machine saves time and reduces the risk of injury from climbing up and down. The increase in service intervals from 250 to 500 hours reduces overall maintenance costs and machine downtime.

Safety
Safety is an integral part of the M Series design with its secondary steering system, operator presence system and hydraulic lockout function for roading. The M Series also has speed-sensitive steering and includes ground level disconnect and engine shut off switches.

M-Series Accugrade. AccuGrade Cross Slope
  • Purpose-designed and integrated into the machine and hydraulic systems.
  • Delivers precise and automatic blade control, enabling operators to grade with complete accuracy.
  • Uses machine-mounted sensors and electronics to report precise guidance information to the operator via an in-cab display.
  • Expect greater accuracy, higher productivity, lower operating costs, and more profitability, with operators taking fewer passes than ever before.

M-Series Accugrade.

AccuGrade Sonic

  • Uses ultrasonic sensors that calculate elevation from a physical reference point – such as a stringline, curb or gutter – to maintain elevation.
  • The operator simply steers the machine to maintain the sensor over the reference point while automated features control the blade.

M-Series Accugrade.

AccuGrade Laser

  • Employs a rotating laser to create a grade elevation reference plane over the work area, maintaining precise elevation control while the operator steers the machine.
  • The system also indicates cut/fill requirements to aid the operator.

M-Series Accugrade.

AccuGrade UTS

  • Uses a Universal Total Station (UTS) to track blade positioning and provide precise elevation adjustments for fine grade control.
  • Provides information in a graphical display on the machine, showing relevant cut/fill information as well as location on the design.
  • The operator drives the machine while the system controls the blade, helping to achieve fine grade surfaces with high-precision accuracy.

M-Series Accugrade.

AccuGrade GPS

  • Incorporates a Global Positioning System (GPS) to provide precise location information and elevation control with centimetre level accuracy.
  • Automated features control the blade allowing the hydraulic system to position the blade while the operator steers the machine.
Testimonials

M Series Motor Graders and, in particular, the joystick controls, have had a lot of people talking. We understand it’s a big change, especially for experienced, long-serving operators who were used to the ‘old’ way. We also understand that advancements in technology such as those in the M Series can cause a bit of uncertainty.

So we’ve asked some of our customers to let us know what they think – after all, they’re the ones that can really make the comparison between the old and the new way of grading.
